Her work aims to showcase the ephemeral quality present in human life and in nature. The cyclical manner in which we die, regenerate and are reborn feels analogous to the way she draws, as her memory and imagination are expressed and erased on the canvas, leaving behind traces and blending with other shapes, colors, and lines. She believes in finding harmony between the conscious and the unconscious, both in my process and in the subject matter of my works. She wants to convey the hope and joy of discovering something beautiful and new, along with the difficulty and hesitation that arises from having to decide which path to take. Her art contains a consistent set of visual elements, including Korean temple roofs and musical notes, as those are fond memories from her childhood and represent the unconscious past flowing into the present. The fulfillment that she derive from freely imagining and embracing her agency is an emotion solely expressed through her art.  

Jangmee Park explores mixed mediums, including water-based materials, drawings and collage, to communicate her inner self and the way in which reality is experienced by both the conscious and the subconscious. In her paintings, the intentional and the unintentional are mirrored by the interplay of realist and abstract images. These mediated images act as a screen upon which the viewer is able to project their own subjectivity. Her paintings are by no means an end, but rather an intermediary process: a joint journey of self-discovery between her and the viewer.
